What is your profession? Director of Financial Stability for Trident United Way

What do you enjoy doing outside of your career? I enjoy teaching college level classes, volunteering and spending time with family.

How long have you been a member of the Center for Women? I have been a member of the Center for Women for three years.

What inspired you to become a member? I was inspired to become a member by Jennet Alterman. She is a phenomenal mentor and visionary.

What kind of impact has the Center for Women had on you? The Center has helped me celebrate strong, intelligent women and be mindful of maintaining life and work balance.

How has living day-to-day as a woman affected you? I was reared in a matriarchal family. So, I grew up with strong women role models. I’ve been blessed to continue to work with smart, powerful women. I fully embrace the joys and challenges of being a wife, mother and professional.

What kind of message would you like to send out to women who are trying to succeed in today’s economy? I would say to all women in this economy to look to their strengths to do things differently. We all have talents and many of our hobbies have the potential to become revenue generating opportunities. The Center for Women provides a number of seminars and instructional sessions that help women focus on both personal and professional growth and development. So, women should keep abreast of what they are offering.
